Zeds Dead Set to Bring Northern Lights to Phoenix

By October 26, 2016All Categories

Phoenix is having a killer fall season when it comes to the EDM culture. Relentless Beats has been throwing gangbusters like Mad Decent Block Party and BOO! almost back to back with big names like Diplo, Knife Party, Flosstradamus and Excision. The fun does not stop there though. Venues like the Marquee and Monarch Theater have been keeping the valley warm with names like Bear Grillz, Getter, Seven Lions and now Zeds Dead.

Only entering the scene back in 2010, Toronto duo Dylan Mamis (DC) and Zachary Rapp-Rovan (Hooks) have successfully made themselves a household name. After a short life as Mass Productions back in 2006-2007, the duo only released one album heavy with 90’s hip-hop influences, after which Zeds Dead was born and a new direction was taken. Electronic music was leaving its mark on the scene and DC and Hooks rose to prominence after the release of bass heavy remixes and genre leaping original music from 2009 to 2010. Following six extended play releases including Rude Boy (2010), The Living Dead (2012), Hot Sauce (2013), and one remix album, the release of Northern Lights was finally released just a few weeks ago. Today, Zeds Dead has really defined themselves with a sound that combines aspects of House, Bass, Glitch, Drum & Bass and Electro House. This in-depth exploration of genres will have everyone up on their feet dancing.

After almost three years, Zeds Dead will step foot back in Arizona to drop the bass at the Marquee Theater in Tempe for their highly anticipated Northern Lights Tour. Coming off the festival circuit after doing massives like Holy Ship!, EDC Las Vegas, and Electric Forest, Zeds Dead is focused on bringing their intelligent, bass heavy sound to major US cities. As the first album to come out of their new Deadbeats imprint, Northern Lights features Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Pusha T, Diplo, Twin Shadow, Elliphant, Jadakiss, Styles P and others. So get your best hip-hop and house gear together and make your way to the Marquee this Thursday. Get your tickets here!
