Nothing says “summertime” like a bit of RAC by the pool on a hot, sunny day. And there’s no better way to get your #SundayFunday on than spending the afternoon in Old Town Scottsdale. So when I heard RAC was going to be performing a set at May Day and Night Club full of chill, indie remixes, I knew I had to be there.
Pineapple hat on and beer in hand, I was ready for a perfect afternoon under the palms of the day club. And with the scorching heat of the day reaching 108 degrees, it’s safe to say I was ready for some #chillvibes – and chill vibes is what I got.
It was a leisurely Sunday in Old Town and guests slowly began to wander in, grabbing their drinks of choice and making their way to the day club pool to relax. Not a surprise, given that awesome Arizona heat. A few groups of friends snagged a few cabanas so they could relax in a luxurious sort of way – always a good idea. With many Scottsdale residents fighting off the exhaustion of the previous evening’s adventures, it took a little bit of time for the crowd to grow, but by the time RAC made his way to the stage the party was in full swing.
RAC took the stage and dedicated fans made their way to the DJ booth. Others danced around in the pool or celebrated from their cabanas. The music was the perfect fit for the afternoon throwing in a little ODESZA and Two Door Cinema Club in addition to their myriad of other remixes. Toward the end of the set was a groovy version of their track “Cheap Sunglasses” featuring Matthew Koma, much to the crowd’s delight. The afternoon was the definition of #chillvibes all around and I’m looking forward to what Maya has in store for the rest of the month.
If you’re looking for a cool way to spend a weekend, you’ll want to get your tickets for Chromeo on July 23rd or the recently announced ODESZA DJ set during Labor Day Weekend. A Maya-styled Labor Day Weekend is sure to be a festive one, so be sure to grab your tickets soon!
